We Gobbled Till We Wobbled...

Needless to say Thanksgiving 2008 was a success! Following a 5 year tradition Papa & G-Mama, along with Great Grandma came over on Thanksgiving Day. It was a small crowd but it allowed for some really good quality time for us all! This year, Matt was in charge of the turkey (a big step for my controlling tendencies) and I just have to say it just may have been the best turkey I have ever eaten. Seriously- it was that good!

And look at his face below... he knows he rocked it! I'm beginning to think that he got his awesome grilling skills from his dad, who made a wonderful smoked pork loin (but the fact the pork turned out great was a suprise to no one)!

Before lunch, Papa and G-Mama helped Davis get out some cooped up energy! These days he is ALL boy! And for that I'm thankful.... most of the time :-)

Davis loves his ducky! His Great Grandma got it for him a few months ago! Thanks Grandma!!!

Having a grand time! Shortly after all the duck time- it quickly turned into story time. Davis presented G-Mama, Papa, and Great Grandma with book, after book, after book. It is nice to have others there to read to him as much as he would like! Not-to-mention that Great Grandma does great sound effects! Unfortunately, I got busy in the kitchen and failed to take pictures of this priceless time!
After lunch it was naptime for "D" and the Gormans headed home in the late afternoon. We then headed to Granna's for the Foster Thanksgiving! Just when you can't eat another bite, you realize that you can! Who can pass up such wonderful food? We had a great time and I can't believe how old all of my young cousins are getting! I guess I forget that I'm getting older too!

So needless to say, we stuffed our faces on Thanksgiving. Or you might would say our bellies...

I will spare you any picture of me and Matt's bellies! (Rest assured there are none in existence)!

But trust me when I say we were practically waddling too!

We are so thankful for all that our little boy brings to our family and all of the joy that our family brings to our little boy!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to All!

Psalm 100:4

"Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise;

give thanks to him and praise his name."

Just a couple of turkeys...

Tonight the Thaxtons & Mendoza's came over for a pre-thanksgiving feast! As always we had a great time and of course, had to get a few pictures in. Davis is living the high life I tell you.... have you ever seen a little boy with some many cute girl friends?

Gabriella (6 months), Davis (15 months), Avery (8 months)

We had already gotten Davis dressed in his PJ's when we decided to do a group picture! Oh well- nothing beats "footie" PJ's on a cold winter night!!!

More Fall Fun...

Of course I wanted to take advantage of the beautiful scenery and get some good family pictures too... but Davis didn't want to be a part of that either!

Perhaps he is crying because these are his parents in typical form...

And after seeing that sequence of events Davis is holding on to dear life and thinking...
help me, please!

But eventually he cracked a smile...

if only for a moment!

Fall Frolicking...

Big Canoe is one of our favorite places! It is full of wonderful childhood memories for me, it is where I married my better half, had wonderful family gatherings, and some great weekend getaways with friends! I think it is only natural that I would want to kindle this love for the mountains in Davis at an early age. I can't think of a better time to do that than during the peak of fall when the leaves are blazing with color and the weather is beautiful! Unfortuantly, Davis didn't really share in the sentiment. We took him to the playground at the base of the mountain last Friday and what was suppose to be a time of squealing and delight quickly headed south due to the need of a good nap and wanting to be held by his granddaddy (oh those two are like peas and carrots I tell you). Though brief we were able to capture some of the moments from our time at the playground...

Like going down the slide for the first time...

Exploring the grounds...

Going down the big slide with Mommy....

Swinging with Daddy! Davis loves to swing but apparently not with his mommy...

And a few goofy moments like this one...

And my personal favorite....

Have I told you he is his father's child?

Where the Wild Things Are...

Yesterday we went over to the Stephens house to watch the Georgia Vs. Florida game. Oh, it wasn't a good game I'm afraid. In fact, it was embarassing to say the least- but we are trying to forget about it. Besides there were lots of other things to smile about! We had brought all of the kids costumes to try and get a little bit more use out of them and to get that perfect picture (we are nothing if not persistant)! Here are a few more pictures of our Dinosaur & his cute friends- ROAR!!!!

Trick or Treat...

Happy Halloween Everyone! Davis had a great Halloween this year! Since it fell on a Friday night there were lots of high school football games going on this year- one of which MHS vs. HHS (a rival in our family). Aunt Jennifer had friends and family over for a tailgating party and then everyone was suppose to walk to the game (however, I think every person decided to catch a ride due to chili weather)! The food was excellent- all different types of soups! Football, cold weather, yummy food, friends, & family- now this is what fall is all about!

Our family of three did not go to the game but dropped by for the tailgating festivities. Davis was a dinosaur and looked adorable (if I do say so myself)! Once he mastered balancing his tail while walking he cruised right along from person to person. However, it was quite the challenge at first! After the tailgating we headed home to pass out candy to our neighbors and put our little dinosaur to bed. Next year we will go door-to-door but as for this year it was the perfect night.

Look at those big tears! They didn't last long...
This dinosaur loves crackers!

Check out my long tail...

An attempt at a family picture- sometimes Dinosaurs can be rather difficult to handle... don't try this at home!

Slightly better....

What a bunch of animals!

Unfortunatly, Davis wasn't up for a picture at the moment.

So Daddy gave him a dum-dum before dinner.... yes, only on Halloween!
