My mom did something very sweet this valentines day.... she took Davis to get his pictures taken at a local photography studio as a surprise for me & Matt! We had some wonderful pictures taken of Davis last Valentines day so she thought the tradition should continue! She went out and got him some new clothes and was excited about the little surprise! However, she should have consulted Davis first because from what I"m told- he had no interest in being there! Apparently things went from bad to worse in a matter of no time! For the most part this is so unlike Davis, however after Davis got his MMR shot the doctor had warned us that the likelihood of him not feeling well 10 days from him receiving the vaccine was strong. And wouldn't you know- the doctor was so very right! And unfortunately for my mom, this day fell right around the photo shoot day!
When I spoke to my mom that afternoon she informed of the "surprise" that went bad! After I got home from work we went back to the studio to look at the pictures (she couldn't view them at the time because Davis was acting so bad & upset). Though not as good as last year's there were still some decent shots! And do you know how hard it is to not by pictures of your own child/grandchild? We just might be suckers, but we still walked out with 3 different shots of our favorite little guy! Thanks mom for a wonderful Valentine's day treat! I"m sorry Davis wasn't more cooperative! I bet it will be a Valentines day you won't soon forget!

Happy Valentine's Day....
"We love because He first loved us." I John 1:9
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails..." 1st Corinthians 13: 4-8

Cousins...
The pictures below are a poor attempt to capture a comedic even that happend at the family gathering mentioned in my previous post. Turner was not happy that his parents wouldn't let him play in the mud so he decided to hunker down and cry! I know the feeling so I sympathize with my favorite nephew! Somtimes it just helps to cry and let others know how you feel! Davis has been doing this a lot more recently too (it must be a developmental stage... that I haven't grown out of yet... I'm a slow bloomer)! Turner's parents, being the great parents they are, let him have his moment without giving in! I admire that in any set of parents and know from experience that it can be a challenge!
However, Davis didn't like his favorite cousin feeling sad.... He wanted to help...
He tried several methods to helping his favorite cousin up...
Eventually, with a little help from Matt, Turner overcame his feelings of sadness and decided to stand up.... Davis was so grateful! Afterall, what good is a beautiful day if you can't enjoy it with your cousin?
See below... poor Turner not to happy!

February Fun...
This past weekend we gathered at Papa & G-Mama’s house (Matt’s parents) to celebrate his sister’s birthday! What a great time we had! It seems like the moment we found out that two little BOYS would be born into our family so close in age we began speculating what family gatherings would look like. I have to tell you- now that the boys are a little bit older, it is exactly how I imagined it would be- always on the go and getting into something! They are both so much fun… each with their own individual personality but both so easy to love! It warms my heart every time I get to see them together!
Our day was jammed packed with playing inside & out, sitting on the tractor, playing in the leaves and roaming a quarter of the 22 acres my in-laws own. We also had a great lunch but unfortunately Davis was too tuckered out to enjoy it! By the time we got home he took a 4 hour nap (we had to wake him to feed him dinner, otherwise I’m not convinced he wouldn’t have slept right through)!
Here are a few pictures from our fun filled day…

Then we headed outside to burn off some energy and enjoy the beautiful day....We played in the leaves....I love the picture below of Turner... I just want to squeeze him!Turner's daddy playfully tossed him into the pile of leaves!
I normally wouldn't post the picture below but I can't help myself.... I do believe Davis is starting to look more like Matt and I consider the semi-profile picture below proof... am I imagining it?
I think the highlight of Davis' day was Papa putting him up on the tractor! He didn't want to get down and kept pointing to it the remainder of our time outside....Monday, February 2, 2009
All in a hard day's work...
Is there such thing as too much of a good thing? If so, I do apologize! I can't help but post a few pictures of us playing with Davis outside on SuperBowl Sunday!
