Just In Case You Needed A Smile....

You're welcome ;-)

A Wellness Check Up that wasn't so "Well"

Last week (sorry for the late post- I know, you were on the edge of your seats, weren't you?) we took Davis in for a wellness check up with his doctor. At this appointment he was supposed to get the dreaded MMR vaccination. We had all had a terrible cold in our household the last week or two but I had thought that we were all starting to feel so much better. Still I decided to mention it to the doctor- just to have him double check that he was in the proper health to receive this strong vaccination. So you can imagine my surprise when the doctor informed me that he would prefer that we not proceed with the vaccinations that day because Davis had an ear infection! I felt so bad- it had been a little bit of a rough day but I really didn't think he felt bad. Poor little fella! I wholeheartedly agreed with the doctor to delay the vaccination! Davis is now on antibiotics and and is sleeping through the night once again (he had been quite restless at night for the past few weeks, waking up 2-3 times a week during the middle of the night. I thought it was just a phase)! Oh, when will we ever learn? I'm sorry Davis!!!! I will be so grateful when he can say "Mommy I just don't feel good!"
His stats are listed in the picture below....

We go back next week to follow up on his ear infection and get the next vaccination!

(We do realize that some people consider this vaccination controversial but we have done the research and spoken with our doctor and feel that the benefits outweigh potential risk. Thanks for respecting our opinion)!

Our Super Hero...

Our Super Boy never fails to save us from lack of laughter, boredom, love and affection. Not to mention saving us from a clean house! He brightens everyday with his super hero presence!

Oh, and like any classic super hero... he hates injustice!

Prayer for Our New President...

Today is a historic day. Today our 44th President, Barack Obama was sworn into office. For days I've contemplated how to find the right balance of words I would like to say that adequately expressed my heart but each time I started to write words failed me. Fortunately, I read this post by sweet JMom (whom I'm a huge fan of) and I could not have said it any better. Thank you JMom- it is as if you read my heart exactly. Please join us in praying for our Country, our new President and his family. God Bless!

Happy New Year!!!!

I"m a little bit behind when it comes to blogging- please accept my apologies! I recently had my wisdom teeth taken out and then a week later a pesky cold was passed around our family of 3- so we have been in rare form around here!

We celebrated New Years Eve at our house surrounded by friends! It was a charming evening as we brought in the new year with a house full of kids! My how times have changed-but we all know we are so very, very lucky! 2008 was our first full year as parents and thankfully we (or more importantly, Davis) has survived. Matt and I really embraced our roles as parents and just when we thought we had figured things out a new phase would begin! The joys of parenting right? We’ve learned a lot and still have more to learn in the year that lies before us! I pray we are teachable and open to the lessons that come our way.

As for 2008, it has been a good year in our household. However, outside the walls of our house times are hard! The economy is the lowest it has ever been not only in our lifetime but in our parent’s lifetime as well. Waking up in the morning is not what we do best in this household but we are reminded during these times that we are fortunate to have jobs to go to! Being in an HR position at an architectural firm (an industry highly effected by the plummeting construction industry) I have experienced the hardship of these times first hand. My words always fail me when a layoff occurs and my heart seems to physically hurt for the families who are affected. So in this sense, I’m very grateful that this year is over and I hope that 2009 will vastly improve!

Boelow are a few pictures of the cute kiddos from New Years Eve.... gosh they are so much fun! There will be one more joining them within a matter of weeks- and it will be a BOY! So exciting!!!!!

Chicks Dig Scars....

At least that's what these PJ's say! Davis received these adorable PJ's from his Papa & G-Mama for Christmas! Aren't they appropriate considering the circumstances from less than 1 month ago when Davis got his 12 stitches? Not only that but the scar is in the same place on the monkeys head as it is Davis’! They are absolutely perfect and make me smile each time he puts them on! Thanks Papa & G-Mama!

Please excuse the excessive drool we might be cutting more molars, only time will tell!
