A Few Maternity Pictures... Oh the Belly!

Seeing how I haven’t been nearly as diligent about taking pictures of my growing belly as I was my first pregnancy, I recently had one of my best friends Peaches take a few pictures of me at the square! My first pregnancy I was a little naive as to just how big my belly can get- now I know, and I find myself less than likely to document the growth!! However, I only know of one photo in existence of my mom pregnant with me and didn’t want Baby Gorman #2 to feel as if weren’t equally excited about him as we were Davis! We can’t wait to meet this little guy and our anticipation is building! We still don’t have a name picked out but the list is narrowed down so perhaps we will have something picked out during the next few weeks!

The pictures below were taken at the beginning of my 6th month! Peaches typically has a much cuter subject to photograph (her adorable daughter Gabriella) but I think we still got some that will be fun to look back on one day! Thank you so much Peach for documenting this phase of life for me! You truly have an eye for such things!

Disclaimer: My mom (aka Gigi) has mentioned that the dress makes me look much bigger than I truly am. I hope in her brutal honestly she is right…

The Joy of Ear Tubes...

Hey Everyone! I'm afraid this will be a rather boring post for most! However, most of this is just for documentation purposes. On Monday of this week Davis had a small outpatient surgery for getting tubes put in his ears! We are hoping this cuts down, better yet eliminates, all the ear infections he has had over the past 6 months.

We had to be at the hospital (which is an hour away) at 6:00 AM on Monday! What an early morning for everyone! Davis of course, couldn't eat or drink after midnight but that didn't really pose a problem for the most part! He was actually in a really good mood the morning of the surgery and was very friendly to the doctors and nurses- I'm hoping he has grown out of the "screaming for help every time we see a doctor" phase!

From the time they wheeled him out of the room to the time we met with the doctor afterwards was a whole 6 minutes! Literally, 6 minutes! Isn't medicine amazing?! Everything went well and we were brought back to see him. Coming out of anesthesia he was fighting mad! He cried, and cried while we tried to soothe him. I think he was just dizzy, confused, and all of the other not so fun things that go with coming out from anaesthesia :( As time went on he got a little bit better and within probably 30 minutes we were walking out the door. Unfortunately, it was in the parking lot of the hospital where Davis decided to get sick and vomit (while Daddy was holding him in his nice work clothes)! Poor Davis and Daddy. Fortunately, due to Matt's "skills" both of them remained clean. Within 15 minutes after that Davis was calmed down and soothed, ready to eat and drink. By the time we got home you never would have known that he just had surgery... other than being a little bit off balance and being dressed in his hospital gown which he immediately removed like so... We are going to try and start potty training next week and have bought Davis a few pairs of underwear which he LOVES! He tries to put them on himself, and insisted on wearing them after surgery. Seeing how we haven't started the actual potty training process he wore them for a short while over his diaper! Mommy can only handle one thing at a time folks! Since then we have put them up so he won't loss his enthusiasm when the time comes! If anyone has any advice on potty training a little boy be sure to share! I think it will be quite an experience! I've heard that boys need to be a little bit older but I think we are just going to give it a try and see what happens!

Anyway, that is all about the ear tubes! I hope & pray they work well! Matt had to have 3 sets has a child but we are hoping this is a one time experience (though it wasn't as bad as I was anticipating)!

Life at the BEACH.... Sandestin- July 2009

Today we got home from a 5 day trip to Sandestin, FL! Matt had a conference in Baytown Wharf and we stayed at a prime location in the village! The village is like a small square with tons, and tons of places to dine, a few playgrounds, great shopping, etc! Though it isn't beach side we did make to the beach a few times! Speaking of which, when Davis says the word beach it sounds a little bit more like a cuss word- but I promise he is indeed saying beach!!!! We've tried to work on the pronunciation a little bit but it doesn't seem to help too much (besides, does it make us bad parents if we get a small chuckle out of it)? I must admit that the first day we hit the beach Davis wasn't a fan- I was thinking he might be more of a pool boy! However, the 2nd time at the beach went so much better and it turns out he might like the beach after all! Especially when Daddy brings the umbrella, his chair, and he steals all some of Mommy's strawberry daiquiri (virgin of course)! Below are a few pictures of our trip...

Day 1 @ the Beach...

Holding on tight to Daddy.

Getting use to the walking in the sand... it is an art (especially when pregnant)!Day Two: What a difference a day makes (and a daiquiri- Just kidding)!Slurp...

Davis loved this toy watering can both at the beach and the poolOH...MY...GOODNESS! We ADORE this little boy! Apprehensive at first but quickly warms up to almost anyone and anything!!!

Last Day at the Beach...
Playing in the water with Daddy...

Umm... slightly sandy! Wonder Why?

Because Daddy buried him of course!

Mommy, Davis, and Baby Gorman (just shy of 6 months pregnant)!Always a little bit humbling to go the beach while pregnant...
but ALWAYS worth it every time!!!

Poolside- through out the trip!
Daddy had yet to see just how well acclimated Davis was to the pool since Davis and I took Mommy and Me swimming session! Needless to say, Daddy has his hands full and Davis loved jumping off the side of the island & "swimming" to his Daddy!Just chillin'! Actually this is one of the things the lessons taught Davis! To utilize the side of the pool if need be! Need didn't be- let me assure you! However, I impressed that the little fellow can hang on for as long as he can!Out of the pool playing with one of his new favorite fascinations- Thomas the Train! It started out as just a train fascination but once Thomas was discovered quickly escalated! We watched that darn DVD over and over again on this trip! But I do love to hear him say "Choo, Choo"!Lastly, the trip went by in the blink of an eye! Thanks Daddy/Matt for taking us with you!!! Can you please sign up for more conferences like that?????
